I bought this 4runner for $200. Currently its not running but I hope it will soon. I got some sweet plans for it. Post pics as I go.
chock the front wheels.
use jackstands on the frame before the axle.
put a jack under the pumpkin or one on either side. don't lift the truck off the jacks though.
loosen the 4 nuts for the U-bolts and remove.
lower the rear axle enough to get the block in.
Place the block.
Put the new (longer) U-bolts on and tighten.
Use the jack/s to lift the truck up off the stands.
remove stands and lower.
Check out new 1" lifted rear.
Pretty simple, 1" is cake. Try 4" blocks, that's a real PITA!

take it to the professionals.
You ARE sounding like a dick and why shouldnt he try and learn how to do things himself instead of taking to a shop, who will likely charge a ridiculous price for this. Its always better to learn how to install your own parts so when something goes wrong you know how to fix it. Give the guy a break.

I have 2" blocks and got them from suspensionconnection.com. They are from Tuff Country.
It did not come w/ the longer U-bolts but I already had a lift on it and I just used the previous ones. Most shops can get them for you seperately. My local shop offered to get them for me.
You can also check PerformanceLifts.com also. They offer longer U-Bolts right on the lift block page.
http://performancelifts.com/cgi-bin/cart/FTSBK2.html which u bolts should i get for my tundra? too many options in the dimensions. also, do i have to change shocks for a 2 inch block lift? i know mostly everyone would agree that it is recommended but what r the risks if i dont change them?

you dont have to, but you do risk blowing the shocks. drive carefully over whoops in the road, otherwise the shocks will max out and rattle your fillings. i suffered through this for about 3 years before getting some used longer shocks.
