On that thread, you reported a new alignment as:
L/front camber was .1 and after was .1
R/front camber was -.1 and after was-.2
L/front caster was .6 and after was .6
R/front caster was .6 and after was .6
L/Front toe was .10 and after was .08
R/front toe was .07 and after was .07
front cross camber was .2 and after .2
cross caster was .0 and after .0
total toe was .03 and after .16
set back was .27 and after was .33
That is a very poor alignment, and it's poor in several ways.
It is also not correctly reported in your post. Consider: Total toe is the sum of left and right individual toe. So, if total toe
was 0.03, but individual toes
were 0.10 and 0.07, whose sum is 0.17, then something isn't reported correctly. I suspect a negative sign is missing on the "before" values of either left toe or right toe.
But that is not the problem. As to why it's bad, consider that the "before" and "after" values for camber and caster are the same, which means camber and caster were not adjusted. In the trade, this is known as "set the toe and let it go". In plain English, you didn't get what you paid for. You've not been getting repeated alignments -- you've been getting repeated "set the toe and let it go".
To see why it's poor, and why the poor alignment might be causing problems, let's look at a small but significant piece of history. Go read
http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...or-balljoints/, specifically my post #37 of 12/25/05, and then come back here.
See why it's not surprising that your truck vibrates, and why the repeated alignments you have had done didn't fix it? With caster of 0.6 degrees, it's no wonder that it vibrates. It's surprising that you can keep it on the road.
I suggest finding a new shop and getting it aligned properly. As I stated in the post I pointed you to above:
My recommendations are, and have always been, to set camber and total toe DEAD ON Toyota's recommended values for your vehicle, and set caster RIGHT AT the upper end of the range Toyota allows for your vehicle.
Toyota has no grounds for complaint at this, and I have no liability for recommending it, because these settings are within the tolerances that Toyota specifies. I've been driving my own '00 Tundra and '01 Sequoia aligned this way for over 70,000 miles and 50,000 miles, respectively, with outstanding results.
