Default Revtek lift, sequoia rubbing control arm

Just put the revtek lift on a 2004 Seq. Put 285/70R17s on the stock wheels. Have a bit of rubbing going on the a-arm at full turns. Think a wheel spacer will fix that? I don't want the wheels sticking outside the wheel well though.

Get aftermarket upper control arms: Camburg or Total Chaos.

You don't want wheel spacers they will give vibrations and excessive wear on steering components. Upper control arms correct ball joint angles and also give more clearance between tires and arm.

what about wheel adapters? Same issues? Upper control arms looks like a spendy route.

Sorry if I sound rude, but you just forked out some serious $$ for 285/17's, why cheap out on wheel spacers?

Contact this guy for factory shaved arms.

http://www.sonoransteel.com/

These are for 4runner/Taco's, but I'm sure he can do them for Tundra/Sequoia's as well.

Is shaving safe? Looks like it would jeapordize the structural integrity of the control arm? Found the Camburg upper control arms for $439. That something a big-o tire would be able to do? Need an alignment as well.

Steve knows his stuff. Shaved arms are just as strong as non-shaved.

You would need basic tools to do this job. Air tools help. Alignment is a must.

I ended up just swaping out wheels. After looking further I was also rubbing on the frame. The solution was new wheels with a 4.5 inch backspace. Stock 17's were 5 inch. Just a little rub now on the mudflap which I will be triming one of these days.
