Default Toytec 2 1/2" or 3" with 285/75/16's?

Hey Everyone,
This is my first post on the site, and I wanted to say that all the information on here is very helpful! I purchased my '06 DC back in november and have been trying to figure out if I want to lift it a little to fit new rims and tires on it. I have noticed that most of the spacer lifts that have been done are 2 1/2" with AAL's or blocks in the rear. Is that enough for 285/75/16's and, Is there a significant difference in the level of the truck if a 3" is installed
