Default need help on shocks

i have spent the last hour searching old posts about which shocks to buy

i have a 2000 sr5 4x2 v8 tundra , it has 89k miles and is a one owner only really used to tow a 20ft boat occ.. it has lived down here in south florida all its life and never off roaded

the shocks on there are the black ones (i guess oem tokico)

i know its time for replacement for although the truck drives okay it tends to wander and bumps in the road tend to throw it around infact if i stand on the nerf bars and jump once the truck tends to bounce 2-3 times

i do 99.9% of city driving , i dont yet have a boat to tow , i dont haul lots of stuff or even remotely heavy items so what i am after is a good replacement shock that will give me a smooth ride.. handling i am not after ( my heavily modded gs400 lex does not like a go cart)

i have spent time searching and i seem to get conflicting opinions hence the reason for my post

how are the tokico trekmasters , they seem to focus more on control and ride comfort then off cap

how do these compare in ride comfort to say the oem bilstein yellow/blues

i dont want harsh and i dont drive the truck fast , its just my daily driver around town

please help out a somewhat newbie for i am going to do my balljoints, tierods and shocks all at once in my garage ( i am a hobby mechanic that does all work myself)

Sounds like you want to go w/the OEM Billies over the HD's...... Here's a good
THREAD if you haven't seen it yet....

Check out the HELLWIG rear sway bar for the Tundras..... Probably the best the "best bang for the buck" mod for the Tundras.... Highly recommend it...

Another mod you might want to consider is the TOTAL CHAOS steering rack bushing mod for under $40.00 shipped.

Good Luck...... JB

Regards,
I used them on my old 94' yota and liked them. I haven't used them on the Tundra though, so I don't have much experience with them here.

You guys might be able to find take-off shocks from someone who's upgraded recently...search through the classifieds.

The stock Bilis are very comfortable.
