This is a discussion thread titled "For leveling the front on a 4x4, is 1.25" to little or is 2.5" to much?", within the Suspension & Axle forum, part of the Technical & Vehicle Assistance Forums category.
For leveling the front on a 4x4, is 1.25" to little or is 2.5" to much?
I saw that daystar has the 1.25" spacers, but I am worried that they wont level the truck enough. But I have also read that the 2.5" lift causes the front to be higher than the rear. I dont want that, and I dont want to have any troubles with this thing in the future.
What do yall think?

1.25" probably wont be level. 2" should make it level. My kings are at 2.5" and its about 1/2" higher in the front. Might check into the new bilstein 5100 leveling shocks. Dont know their results on the Tundra, but friend has them on F150 and very happy with them.

I put the 1.25" Wheelers spacers in the front of my 00AC and it leveled it perfectly. Later I added a 1" block in the rear so that the rear is just a hair higher than the front with my shell on.

check my pics for a before and after shot of the 1.25 daystars. the stock wheels are stock hight, the black wheels have the spacers. it seems a little lower in the front still but i wouldn't want it higher than the back. plus if you go 2" or more you need to pay for and have installed the diff drop to keep from eating the cv's. daystars cost me 65 bucks to the door and 160 to install. would've installed myself but out in cali on work with no garage. happy with the setup but a little clunk on the left front???

I have 2.5" in front and it looks level. My brother did 2.5 on his and got the same results. He started at 2" and then went up to 2.5" and you couldn't visually tell the difference.
Mine is an 01 TRD 4x4, his is an 04 non-TRD 4x4. You can look at our pics to see for yourself.

I have the outside the coil lift still in the box in my garage. If you want it PM me and I will sell it to you cheaper than you can buy it from a shop. Then if it's not enough you can get the other half of the kit which is the inside the coil pack spacer giving you a total of 2.5" of lift.

I have an '05 DC tundra. If I were to do a 2.5" Daystar spacer lift with 16x8 procomp wheels and 285/75/R16 MT ATZ tires, do I need to lift the rear as well? The shop I am getting this installed at said that I do not need to do this. They are going to do some trimming to accomodate the front tires but said no lift in the rear is needed. True?
