the pittsburgh. the general would be great, but i dont know if itll fit the stock coil. might be perfect for aftermarket coils without a taper at one end, nice if your aftermarkets are preloaded and the adjusting collar is frozen...

yeah, that's what I used. Get yourself 2 sets, then use 3 per coil. I used 2 on 1 coil and though they didn't bend much, using 3 relieved my anxiety. Though, using 3 does make it a little tricky to get the compressor tabs over the coil. /Mike

Yes buy two sets, I had a similar set; did my 65 springs twice and the truck once, they bent into a nice curve each time, but did not quite return to normal the last time, they're garbage now...they'll work great! I recommend air tools over arm power.

I've used mine 4 times in the last year. The price is pretty steep, but I figured it was worth it for the peace of mind regarding safety alone. If it was going to be a one time thing I would probably take it to a shop and have them replace the shock.

I tried it out and it starting bending before the springs even moved. The seats for the coil wraps do not fit. You need a seriously, heavy duty compressor to work on the Tundra coils.

Why rent? You can buy the darn things for $8 from Harbor Freight. And then you'll always have them for the future.
I rented a set a few years ago when I replaced the MacPherson struts on a Dodge Colt. The things were so worn, I was afraid they would slip off the threads. I went ahead and used them anyhow, because I was too dumb to know any better, but I'd never rent again.
