If anyone is interested, pick up a copy of the new (July 08) issue of SportTruck magazine. It has a article on lifting a Tacoma using the Bilstein 5100 adjustables. It might help give you an idea what they are all about.

Could there be any negative effects from cranking the front Bilsteins to 2.5" and leaving the back stock height?

nope none drive my Tundra at the Myrdle Beach I'll let you drive it around the parking lot.Cyberbilly truck has them and he too is coming to the Meet. After seeing (Tim's) truck this was the core reason why i picked them out his rather Nice setup and cool 17 inch 4runner chrome wheel's was the deal breaker for me.

Except for the fact that you may have difficulty seeing over the hood if you have a load in the bed...

Seeing is overrated anyways... The only thing I ever haul is dead deer and seeds, so I think I should be alright.

Just took off the pro-comp spacer lift and put the 5100A's on my tundra and put set them for 2". They give me 38" from ground to beginning of the wheel-well. My 285/75's still fit well.

WOW what an improvement in ride over terrible roads. I was getting quite a rattle every-time i went over rough roads.

But now its smooth sailing.

I bought them at my local 4-wheel parts cost $230 for the pair. Had them shipped to me for free. It took a total of 3.5 hrs to do my swap and encountered no problems.

I did read the posts. And did see then lower prices but for ease and i don't care about a few extra bucks. They are literally down the road from me so.....

Any how they are great shocks and would still recommend them for any "Yota" driver.

With the 5100's would new UCA's be required? I have been thinking about getting these, but I am worried about damaging the ball joints in the UCA's. Would it be wise to install a set of Camburgs? I don't plan on off-roading, just an everyday street driven truck.

It depends on what you are going to do with your truck. If you are keeping on the street and limit your off-roading to the Bunny Trail, you should not have to replace your UCAs. I've had the 5100s for a year and a half on the stock UCAs and the BJs are just fine.

If you will be doing any hard-core off-roading, you might want new UCAs. Of course if you are going to go hard-core off-roading, you might want something sturdier than just the 5100 Adjustables; maybe new coilovers altogether.

I have a 2006 SR5 DC 4x4 and I just want to level out the truck to get rid of the rake. I want to throw on some 275/70/17 on the stock rims. I have searched all the threads about the 5100s, CV boot nightmares and ball joint night mares. Would my best set up be 5100's at middle grove and diff drop? If I do this, would I need CV boot fix? I want this done in the coming 1-2 weeks. Need help.

I am doing the same thing, 5100's and revtek diff drop kit . My install is next Tuesday. I have been advised that the 5100A's should be at max lift to level out (2006 DC SR5 4x4) the truck

whats best for a 2 wheel drive crewmax to level it with 95% road driving?

BLISTEIN ADJUSTABLES AT 2.5 IN FRONT OR BLIS. COILOVERS TO REDUCE STRESS ON JOINTS AND SUCH?

SORRY GUYS I AM NO TECHY.

WHAT OTHER THINGS HAVE TO BE DONE TO A 2 W.D. IF LIFTED BY SHOCKS?
