Re: How about a Bilstein 5100 Adjustable shock update
If anyone is interested, pick up a copy of the new (July 08) issue of SportTruck magazine. It has a article on lifting a Tacoma using the Bilstein 5100 adjustables. It might help give you an idea what they are all about.
All a man really needs for happiness in this world is a good woman, a faithful dog, and a big-a$$ed set of tires on his truck.

Re: How about a Bilstein 5100 Adjustable shock update
Just took off the pro-comp spacer lift and put the 5100A's on my tundra and put set them for 2". They give me 38" from ground to beginning of the wheel-well. My 285/75's still fit well.
WOW what an improvement in ride over terrible roads. I was getting quite a rattle every-time i went over rough roads.
But now its smooth sailing.
I bought them at my local 4-wheel parts cost $230 for the pair. Had them shipped to me for free. It took a total of 3.5 hrs to do my swap and encountered no problems.

I did read the posts. And did see then lower prices but for ease and i don't care about a few extra bucks. They are literally down the road from me so.....
Any how they are great shocks and would still recommend them for any "Yota" driver.

Re: How about a Bilstein 5100 Adjustable shock update
With the 5100's would new UCA's be required? I have been thinking about getting these, but I am worried about damaging the ball joints in the UCA's. Would it be wise to install a set of Camburgs? I don't plan on off-roading, just an everyday street driven truck.

It depends on what you are going to do with your truck. If you are keeping on the street and limit your off-roading to the Bunny Trail, you should not have to replace your UCAs. I've had the 5100s for a year and a half on the stock UCAs and the BJs are just fine.
If you will be doing any hard-core off-roading, you might want new UCAs. Of course if you are going to go hard-core off-roading, you might want something sturdier than just the 5100 Adjustables; maybe new coilovers altogether.

Re: How about a Bilstein 5100 Adjustable shock update
I have a 2006 SR5 DC 4x4 and I just want to level out the truck to get rid of the rake. I want to throw on some 275/70/17 on the stock rims. I have searched all the threads about the 5100s, CV boot nightmares and ball joint night mares. Would my best set up be 5100's at middle grove and diff drop? If I do this, would I need CV boot fix? I want this done in the coming 1-2 weeks. Need help.

I am doing the same thing, 5100's and revtek diff drop kit . My install is next Tuesday. I have been advised that the 5100A's should be at max lift to level out (2006 DC SR5 4x4) the truck
