Anyone else with these shocks having this problem?
I thought the Diff Drop kit was supposed to prevent this.
What "setting" are you useing on the shocks? How high did it lift you?

I have mine set at the highest setting, did the diff. drop and they still leaked. I took some zip-ties and tightend the innerside of the CV boot and the bleeding has stopped. Some use hose clamps to do this, but the zip ties are holding just fine. Make sure you were gloves, that grease spreads 8 ways from Sunday faster than kid with jello.

Did you pump in some new grease before sealing them?

Any update on your CV joint leakage, Cyberbilly? I've seen several mentions of a "CV boot mod" but have not been able to find the actual posting (if anyone knows the URL, please post or IM me)
I'm itching to order these units before our Spring Break trip coming up, but don't want to go to the expense if it is going to cause problems (especially on a 2,000 mile road trip pulling an 18' camper trailer!)

I really have not had any time to deal with them. By Tundra was a Certified Used Toyota so it has the 100,000 mile powertrain warranty. I'm going to see if Toyota will fix the CVs under warranty. They probably won't since the suspension's been altered, but it's worth a shot. Worst they can do is say "no."

Also, my experiment with zipties did not work so well. I had one snap and the boot pretty much grease-painted the underside of my truck. Off to HD I go to get the hose clamps I should have gotten in the first place

have you put hose clamps over the stock clamps? diff drop helps but the stock cv clamps are weak.
I have a set of them not installed yet but soon! the easiest/safest thing to do is order the Kartek 930 boots and get them installed. heres the link they are listed as the high angle cv boots: Off Road Solutions - Products - Tundras - Drivetrain

Re: How about a Bilstein 5100 Adjustable shock update
Recievied my Bilstein 5100 0-2" Leveling Shocks today. I have a 06 DC 4x4. I have a few of questions.
Has anyone installed these on a 05 or 06 4x4 DC yet?
If so which slot did you use and how much lift did you get?
What type of spring compressor did you use?
I hope to install these this weekend..
Thanks..

Uh, I hate to tell you this, but those shocks are not recommended for the DC. They can't support the extra weight.

Re: How about a Bilstein 5100 Adjustable shock update
I contacted Offroad Warehouse, and I they show that they are for the DC. I guess they could be tell me that just to get the sell. I guess I should call Bilstein and ask them.
Thanks..

Re: How about a Bilstein 5100 Adjustable shock update
I just got off the phone with Ted at Bilsteins, and he says the #BE5-6929-H5 is designed to fit all 00-06 Tundra's including the DC. He also stated the the 5100 coilovers #BTS7514 were not designed to fit the DC. With that being said, I still am not sure if Bilstein is giving me the true story. Does anyone have knowledge of these not being designed for the DC?
Thanks..

i know theres someone with the 5100 shocks and a DC here. I believe the member is BT-22 or something. the 5100 coilovers were not for a DC due to the weight difference.

Re: How about a Bilstein 5100 Adjustable shock update
I've spoken with several members with successful installations of the "Pre-load Adjustable 5100" Bilsteins on 4x4 double cabs and all report great satisfaction with the results. I also spoke with the Product Specialist at Bilstein West and he confirmed that the BTS Coilover was NOT designed for the double cab, but that the pre-load adjustables were. (In fact he highly recommended them for my application, which is a 2005 DC 4WD Ltd with 17" wheels that sees mild off road duty a couple times a year.
