Default Toytech Diff Drop Question

I installed my 3in Toytech lift today on my 04 tundra with no problem until I got to the diff. drop. I can not figure out how the spacers can drop the front diff. on the back side because the diff.is sitting so close to the cross member there is no room to drop.I dont know if I have the wrong kit or if I am missing something .Can anyone help me

Hey Man,
I have the Toytech kit on my truck as well. The directions that came with the diff drop were for a Tacoma, but it was easy to figure out. I Thought the same thing, but installed the kit anyway. I have about a quarter inch of clearance between my front drive shaft and cross member. Kinda Scary.....

Nothing hits and I havent had a problem yet. I have not yet made the cv boot mod and do spit an ever so slight amount of grease. I have had the kit on since November and not had a problem yet.

Thanks for the help! It looks like the diff. is bolted to the crossmember or either there it is just a bushing bolted there so if I put the the spacer in it looks like it will let the front just roll the distance of the space not let it drop down does this sound wright?

That is correct. The diff appeared to be held in with 4 bolts. The drop goes under the 2 front bolts, so you dont have to worry about it dropping it back at the cross member mugh at all. In reality it may only give your diff about 3/4" of drop, but every little helps. The major thing that I didnt like is the fact that the skid plate doesnt properly seat against the frame any more. My skid plate is now against the diff drop brackets and I had to use longer bolts to hold it in. I keep telling myself that I am going to make spacers to go between the frame and skid plate so I do have the skid plate against the diff drop brackets.
