Default Chacking Trans. Oil

On the trans oil on tacoma 2.7, 4 Speed AT. The stick has two marks for cold and two for hot. Does the top mark cold mean full cold and the top mark hot mean full when it is hot?

Default Re: Checking Trans. Oil

Park on level ground and start your vehicle and let it run for a minute or so and check the fluid level while it's still running. Always pull out the stick, wipe it off clean and then put it back in and then pull it out and read the fluid level. This will be your cold reading. For a hot reading I like to drive around for 20 minutes or so and then check it. The hot level gives a better or truer reading in my opinion. Mike
