Default Instal of 2 way commo in 07 tacoma

I recently traded up to an o7 tacoma ....I had a 97 and I am a CB'r I noticed that in the owners manual the installation of a cb may hinder some of the electronics on the truck...has anyone got any suggestions or had any problems with this ...I had planned on just using the 12v hookup next to the cig lighter for this one....thanks.

Possibly reference to the TPMS system (tire pressure monitor system)
The Tacoma's TPMS system sensors in each tire broadcast their data to a central receiver or via an individual antennae that transmit the data to the control module, which analyzes them and sends appropriate signals to a display. I guess a cb could 'theoretically' alter that signal.

well what it may hinder is a long list of stuff...from SRS airbag...seat belt tensioner, cruise, anti lock brakes, ETC, tire pressure system...multiport fuel injection system...and a few others that I dont have...almost enough to make me not put my radio in there...but, i just dont see it altering or hindering any of those systems to the point of them not functioning...

I believe they just put those statements in there so they will not be held responsible if the radio messes up the computer.

Just consider all of the police cars and other emergency vehicles running some very powerful radio systems. If anybody is going to have problems with communication waves interfering with the vehicles computers, it'll be them.

I would just avoid putting the antenna cable in the same harness as the critical wiring. It should be fine if they cross over at some point, but they shouldnt run together at any length. Bleed over can happen over the stereo as well.

I have installed a Yaesu 2m/440 rig in my 06 and have had no problems. However this is a F.M. radio and cb is A.M. so..... however I dont think that it should matter. I am running 50 watts to a mag mount on the roof and have had no issues. With a cb you will not (legally) run anymore than 5 watts. My truck has 19,000 miles on it. just remember when running the power wires and antenna feed cable always cross wires at perpendicular angles.

I ran a RCI 2970dx in my 97, I never had any problems with that either...and that radio stock had some power. now I am running a cobra 150..its peaked at about 35watts on high power...if your running 50 I should have no problem.. im just finding it a little difficult to find a place to install it....its a larger radio...and the cab is not to cb friendly...
