Re: Roof molding
Bob Bridge, cool, I'll add them to my list of discounters.
When I rebuilt my SC MR2 (suspension, brakes, bushings, engine/tranny mounts, etc) I saved around a grand purchasing the stuff from discounters, primarily Jay Marks (now Toyota World) and Conicelli. Got to the point I was on the first name basis with Jeff Watson at TW.
A dealer outside of Charlotte, NC screwed me out of some good money for the bed cargo net. I specifically asked for that net, but the dimwit quoted me for that cheap cargo net made for trunks, $40 or so. Since I had already driven half an hour to get to the dealer I just gave in and paid the retail, ouch!
A local Vermont dealer manager was giving me around a 20-25% discount until the dealership was sold off, who did some reengineering of their staff. I asked them a few times if they would give me a discount if I purchased x amount, nope. Screw 'em... I dont mind helping to keep local places in business but I'm not going to throw my money at them.
