why can i not get a tacoma double cab plain sr5 in speedway blue. all the speedway blue double cabs seem to be the trd off road or the trd sport package. i want just a plain sr5 package #2 tacoma double cab, v6 , 2wd.
I had the same problem when I special ordered mine. I wanted the SR5 Access in Speedway Blue.. but it can not be ordered without either the TRD or 4 X 4. Toyota will not build this combination. There are other unique combinations/colors that are also affected....not just speedway blue. This can be frustrating, I ended up getting the TRD package. I have to say in retrospect, I'm glad I ended up purchasing the TRD package due to the various other upgrades this package offers. Money well spent IMO...

Why would you want one? Blue is for Barbie's car , not for Tacoma's.
Just kidding, I don't know why you can't order the truck with the color you want. Did they give you a reason they don't do it? Mike
Thanks Mike, you could of at least said Ken's truck...but Barbie?..that hurts.
When I tried to order my SR5 in speedway blue and couldn't, I actually called Toyota corporate asking why this combo wasn't available and here's what I was told:
1) Cost...keeping options/colors/packages to a minimum there's less overall costs incurred by a manufacturer.
2) Appearance...somebody's idea at Toyota that they want certain models/colors/packages represented by the Toyota name to look a certain way.
Sounds almost communist like to me...but I guess quite common in the automotive industry.
