Probably pretty common. My 07 Access Cab has a lot of wind noise too.

Yup, likely due to large mirrors... made worse by thin glass and little insulation.

Hey GreenMtnMan: You from Vermont?? That's where the "Green Mountains" are.

My '07 Access Cab has wind noise in the REAR of the cab. I think they all do. I drove a couple of them before I bought mine. (Not the windshield wind noise that's been documented.) The noise is coming from the "holes" where the rear seatbelts exit the cabin walls into the cabin. I have masked off the "holes" with duct tape and the noise greatly diminishes.

There is also TWO holes..one each side.... under the cab..crawl under the truck and look up..directly below the rear seatbelts...in the cab body: It's a 3/8 hole that seems to have been overlooked and is "Unplugged". I plugged the two holes with commom plastic plugs that are available from your local "ACE" hardware. One more step. There are also two smaller holes nearby which are "unplugged" and very close to the 3/8 holes. Don't plug those. I think they are "drain" holes.

I am still looking for something more elegant than duct tape for the rear seat belt exits. A nice molded rubber insert that would pop into the opening would work. I need to figure out how to make one. Any other engineers out there who can give some thought to this?? TacoGuy

Nope, we live on Green Mountain in NW Oregon.

Good tips on wind noise reduction. It doesn't bother me much, I just turn up the radio, but when somebody else is in the cab the wind noise makes talking a bit more difficult than it should be. I'll check out your suggestions.

Before I purchased my truck: I pointed out the wind noise to the Salesman, and later the "Sales Manager" ....who took the liberty to jump in the truck... to replace my salesman, during my quest to find a truck off the lot without the wind noise. It was winter in New England. It was windy. Cold air is much denser than warm air so the "Noise" will manifest itself more than warm air for the same wind speed. The sales manager was obviously trying to "Wrap Up" the sale. He didn't "notice" the wind noise.

I figured the wind noise was natural to this model and I bought the truck anyway because I liked it.....and figured I... would find the "AIR LEAK" myself and fix it.

I'm making progress, but still working on the problem and WILL FIND the Total Solution. Maybe if I wasn't a retired engineer, ...with too much time on my hands, I would be "Fat and Happy" with my truck. I know the dealer isn't interested in spending time with this. After all: This model is now 3 years old. TacoGuy

Sorry, but I'm slow sometimes. Could you ellaborate a little about this? I think I have this same issue. Mine sounds like a whistle coming from the back. At first, I' thought it might be the rear sliding window. Where are you seeing these "holes" that need to be plugged? When you say look up from underneath are you looking at the cab floor or the bottom of the access door? Is the access door opened or closed, etc? Anything you can do to get me closer to those holes would be appreciated. In the meantime, I used masking tape to tape the rear-upper seatbelt strape holes on the access cab doors. I'll know pretty quickly on the drive to work tomorrow whether or not it changes the sound.
