TacomaGeneral discussion forum for the 2005 and later Toyota Tacoma.
This is a discussion thread titled "Tube Steps", within the Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
I have a chance to buy some factory tube steps for my 07 Access Cab Prerunner. For some reason the guy selling them doesn't know which they're off of, though he thinks they're off an Access Cab.
Does anyone know how to tell the difference between the ones for an Access Cab and Double Cab? I'm assuming the ones for an Access Cab are shorter. I've tried finding pictures of both to see where they start and stop. Based on the pics I've found, it looks like they start at the front of the door and end at the rear of the cab.
Interesting, those are definitely nice looking tube steps, but based on the post I think they're DeeZee brand, not Toyota OEM... and it's also interesting that they extend all the way back under the front of the bed. Based on that and the fact that the rear step extends behind the rear door, it almost looks like they were made for the double cab.
I'm aware that there are different OEM lengths and part numbers, but since the ones for sale don't have a part number on them, I'm trying to identify them by size.
I just went to the dealer and stomped around the lot looking for the real thing. I couldn't find any with factory OEM tube steps, they were all aftermarket addons (dealer makes more profit on those). Based on the factory running boards that I found on several (that only go from the rear of the front fender, to the rear of the cab, and pictures I found on ebay with the OEM tube steps on Double Cabs), it appears the ones for the Access Cab would be about 66" and the Double Cab 80", but I need to confirm that before I have the guy ship them.

Here is a pic with the factory OEM in an Access...maybe you can PM the member for actual dimensions:
The DeeZee are actually the OEM for Toyota(painted silver) with the exception of the SE area(south east region). The SE has the stainless steel chrome option. These are the one's I actually have that I purchased from a dealer in South Carolina. I don't believe you can buy any other OEM in CA other than the painted silver.... at least from Toyota. I agree with you that SuperBusa steps seem to extend beyond the norm for the Access cab, and like you said, maybe he purchased the Double Cab version instead?
