This is a discussion thread titled "Hi-Lift Jack Install (Pics)", within the Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Hello everyone. I just wanted to post a few pictures of my H-Lift Jack install. My brother and I installed the jack on the driver’s side of the Tacoma. The install was very easy. We simply popped out the bed pocket and removed the wet storage bin in the bed of the truck. This allowed us easy access between the bed and the fenders. (There is lots of room back there) The jack is a 48” cast/steel model and the mount is Hi-Lift’s 4xRAC.
I did have one complaint about the 4xRAC. The kit does not come with any washers!!!! So, before you attempt this install be sure to pick up 16 stainless steel washers. We used very wide 1.25” washers between the bed and the fender as to spread the load of the 30 pound jack as wide as possible. On the outside we used smaller washers that just covered the mounting holes in the 4xRAC.
Another tip…use a piece of ¾ wood as a shim and place it on top of the wheel-well when aligning the jack and determining mounting location.
Total install time took us about 30 minutes. Questions and comments welcome.
