TacomaGeneral discussion forum for the 2005 and later Toyota Tacoma.
This is a discussion thread titled "SAW racerunner or toytec 885?", within the Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
ive finally narrowed it down between SAW racerunners and toytec 885.
also, should i go with the SAW's, what would be a good compliment lift in the rear. i think it would be a bummer to drop roughly $600 in the front and put AAL's in the back which would give me a stiffer ride. im looking for a pretty smooth ride on the street, and something to allow me to occasionally go offroad.
I installed 885`s for a friend and his was an inch taller than mine at first....But it has settled and it is the same height after a couple weeks....
The 885`s would have been my second choice for a lift. I bought/built this truck for offroad, so I went with the SAW`s. That was my only choice for Coil overs at that time, and I have been very happy with them on and offroad. They are stiffer on the street and I notice it most on speedbumps, But it is a truck not a Cadillac.
The Customer service has been great as well and when the time ever comes, I will have these SAW`s serviced and hope they last the life of the truck.

good to hear. is your entire 3" lift from the SAW's alone, or do you have a spacer or level kit as well? ive heard 3" is the highest you want to go with these.

2.5 inch Saw`s with 3 inchs lift in the front and the 1.5 inch AAL`s in the rear...and it leveled out nice.

on the saw website, it has front coilovers and rear shocks listed together, then says it is $450 each... SWAY-A-WAY - axles, torsion bars, and shocks for trucks, cars, and off-road vehicles - Vehicle Make
does this mean each side f&r are 450? so all together a complete suspension lift would cost around 1000? am i wrong here, or is this not a complete setup? this doesnt quite sound right, but then again i dont know anything besides what i've been reading online
....ok so now im confused, whats the difference between the coilover/shock packages and the suspension kits that are listed on that website?

Not sure, I have not looked
I wanted a lift and I wanted the best because I will be offroading this truck often.
So I went with the larger/heavier duty 2.5 inch coil overs and they came with a sway bar
2.5 inch SAW Coil overs with sway bar and 1.5 inch AAL were ....$1000
and the Pro Comp MX-6 adjustable rear shocks were $200
Eagle Rims with 5 BFG 285/75/16 Mud Terrains, caps and kit were $1800
But I got all this through a friends shop at his discount

the sway a way site is definately confusing. for a total front and rear package from SAW, you can expect to pay roughly $1,100ish depending on what package you choose. i opted for the 2.0 suspension kit (Tacoma05-Current101-5200-3102-0052-21" blocks included100-5252-2) and found a pretty good deal from a distributor on ebay, so i paid a little under what you see on the SAW site. still waiting for them to arrive though...
the difference between a coilover/shock package vs. a suspension kit is that the coilover/shock package is just a set of coilovers or a set of shocks. a SAW suspension kit is coilovers PLUS a rear option. you'll notice that the suspension kit includes specs for the front as well as the rear. hope this helps...
