Default vibration problem after lift lit installed

I bought a 08 Tacoma and had a 3" lift kit put on at the dealer ship after the installation was done . Now I have a small vibration beteen speeds of 20 to 30 mph. Any speed after that the vibration goes away. I hope someone can give me some feed back has to what to try next. Or has anyone had this same problem? i forget to add I also had air lockers installed as well. could this be a possibility as well. I took my truck back to the dealership they know there is problem but don't know where this vibaration is coming from.

I did 3 inch Toytec suspension lift on 06 Tacoma. Similar slight vibration coming from rear around 10-15 mph. From what I read, its common and their is no real good way to get rid of it. Some say shims, some say differential drop, some say replace with solid drive shaft and some say live with it. Doing any of this may make it worse. I'm surprised the dealer did the lift anyway.

I'm going to live with it as it is minimal and worth the customization upside..my 2 cents

Toytec sells shims for your rear driveline that corrects this. From what I here they work real well and are very inexpensive. I will be adding them when I lift my truck.

What is curious about these vibrations is that they go away when the 4wd is engaged.....so I am very curious to see why a spacer in the rear driveshaft would solve anything??

My 2007 Taco Access cab is going back to the Dealer for the 4th time for this problem. They are keeping it for 10 days while I'm on vacation and if it is not resolved they are to remove the lift and credit me the $2500.00 I paid. Yes $2500.00 for a lift kit that could have been installed for half that else where. I love the look of the lift however the noise and vibration drive me nuts. As well I can't imagine the drive shaft vibrating as being a good thing. I'll post the results in 3 weeks.

Dealer is replacing my front diff. After putting a vibration sensor on the front diff they found that compared to a new truck there was vibration coming from there. No diff's available in Canada for another week or more. Will post after replacement and let everyone know the results.

I can't wait to hear what you find out, because the only way I was able to correct the vibration was to remove the lift.....

I'm back to stock, vibration free.

Rick,

How bad was your vibration? I had my front end lifted by 2.5" last fall and noticed a growling sound as I drove, and I could feel it in my feet and gas pedal. It is definitely more prominent in cooler temperatures. At first I thought it was just my tires (BFG A/T) but have been suspicious since reading about these posts. I did notice it improve slightly when I put it in 4x4.

I have the same vibration. I was told it was the clutches in the locker in the rear-end. It is a chatter from about 5-15 mph. I think it has to do with the angle of the drive shaft, and it also being a two piece drive shaft with a carrier bearing. I'm going to shim the carrier bearing and see if it helps. Now I have 8", the photo was with 6".

Hay guys i have a 08 trd. I have lifted it with ICON coil overs in the front and a three leef add a leaf in the rear. I have a few noises up front but i think it is the front left coil over when it moves makes a little squeek noise. ABout the vibration, i to had that vibration on accel. I lubed all of the grease fittings n the drive shaft and Bam Gone. Yes after i lubed all of the u joints it was gone. I also heard of another person doing this on ttora.com and had the same result. So maybe try this as myself and another fellow tacoma driver have had positive results. Thanks

Who makes and 8" lift for the Tacoma? Is it custom? or did you add a body lift?

2 1/2" spacers in the front, and new spring kit in rear.
