Tow 10k (gcwr, not trialer weight) with a gooseneck?
I wonder if anyone has ever towed a gross combination weight of around 10,000 and how it felt? It would be with a gooseneck with 2 braking axles, NOT a tag trailer, so this changes things entirely for the better.
What I'm trying to do is find a safe solution to tow a car behind a small truck while staying under 10,000 lbs on a daily basis.

Any hitch manufacture that would install a gooseneck hitch in the back of a Tacoma should have his license revoked. The pin weight alone would eat up your payload capacity. Not to mention you would have to add an additional support for the ball because there isn't much under the bed to support that kind of weight.

I tow a 6,000lb car trailer with my Tacoma (not gooseneck). It really tows pretty good, a little more power would be nice for the mountains but other than that it tow very well. Brakes very well considering the added load and I only have one braking axle. Stability is pretty good to, with minimal sway. I park my Cruiser pretty far up on my trailer as I find this keeps the sway way down, though I can only do this because I added Supersprings, a must for any serious towing with the Tacoma! I do not tow on a dailey basis though I do to quite often on some pretty decent sized trips, planning one from the CA to UT in may. Many people will tell you you need a 3/4 ton to tow on a regular basis.

How are those supersprings for regular driving?
I will eventually be towing my S2000 on a open trailer. It'll be around 4500-5000lb.

They actually aren't bad. The ride is a little stiffer, but not unbarable. I personally like the slightly stiffer ride because it handles a little better and it more than makes up for it when any load is put on the rear. 4,500 to 5,000 is a pretty easy tow for the Tacoma, yea you are going to know you are towing but your truck wont complain about it. The 4.0 is happy to be reved when needed and my temp gauge has never once budged. Though I do like the AFE intake a lot and feel like there was a slight power gain from it, I am contemplating getting rid of it because towing in the mountains when I drop to 3rd can be rather noisey. At first it didn't bother me so much, but it gets a little more annoying everytime I tow up a steep mountain pass. Or find a way to sound proof my firewall a little bit.

Stiff suspension and noise I am used to.
Even with the springs and an intake it will probably be like a cadillac compared to my car lol.
A little cheaper... they offered free shiping when I bought mine about a year ago!
