Default universal yoke?

I need to know what you call the part that the universal joint goes into on the rear end. I always thought it was called a yoke but I can't seem to find one when I do a search for it. It's like a flange that bolts to the rearend that connects the driveshaft to the rearend. Thanks in advance.

Sometimes called a companion flange, or just flange. It is called a yoke more often when it actually accepts the u joint directly, but since it is a flat plate and the u joint does not directly come in contact with it, it is a flange.

Thanks LRH, but it is flat with four holes on one side and accepts the joint on the other. It's a 2000 tacoma.

I thought you were talking about the one at the diff. The one at the drive shaft would be considered a yoke, more like a 1/2 yoke, but with a flanged face VS splines. maybe someone will look in a factory service manual to see what Toyota actually calls it; I think Toyota calls one piece a flange and the other a companion flange.

On the propeller shaft Toyota calls the end a "universal joint flange yoke" which bolts to the "companion flange" on the rear diff.
