TacomaGeneral discussion forum for the 2005 and later Toyota Tacoma.
This is a discussion thread titled "factory remote extended range", within the Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Hi, I'm trying to find out if there is ANY way to extend the range on my factory remote(s). Even in open areas, you have to be at +- 30ft so it BARELY gets the signal. I'm trying to do this 'cause I'll be installing a remote start module this week. (Remote start module from DEI)

Just found what? I'm not seeing anything.
30 feet you say? Must be something wrong with your remote, mine works from as far as 75-100ft. maybe farther, but thats about as far as I've tried it. Have you talked to your dealer about it?
Jared

No I haven't talked to my dealer about it, 'cause I didn't need the range, but now that I'm getting the remote starter, it better have good range or else it'll be worthless.. Any ideas?
