My fog button is lit (all the time), the light comes on with the rest of the dash. When they are on the button is a little recessed, and I can see the light from the fogs when they are on. How can you not tell? Maybe you do have a problem? Did you pull the switch and check the light in the switch?

You've got to be kidding us! I don't think there's a light in it???

I'll be looking at mine tonight when it gets dark and post back tomorrow. I don't think mine's ever been lit...but we'll see.

I wonder then if all the rest of ours are defective? Mine was never lit from the day I bought it. Just assumed it was like the 4WD switch...no lights.

Edit:
Just spent some time searching this subject on TN about this...here's the thread:

Fog light switch... question.. pic.. - Toyota Forums :: Toyota Nation

What I find interesting is that the moderator said all of us have a light in the switch and others mentioned how they fail all the time...even after replacing the bulb. Some never lit up (like mine), others were lit all the time, and one even lit up only when the fogs were on! So, we must have a bulb in there after all. I'll be taking mine apart in the near future to see WTF is going on!

Mine is illumintated like all the other dash guages, it doesn't change color or brightness when the lights are switched on and off. The only way I know when they are on is by looking at the button it appears more recessed.

I thought about this too, just thought it was odd. Now that I see others that do light up well I am wondering "what's up with that?" FWIW My VIN begins with a 5, that's the California plant right?

yup, i forgot to mention that too. My light is only illuminated when i turn on the headlights. When i push the fog light button while my headlights are on, the illumination does not turn off. So in essence its not an indication light for the fogs. I think thats what we want right? I noticed a blank plug next to the fog switch, i'm wondering if you could wire up a little led to turn on when the fogs are on?

hmmmmm..... I see just one light, not two. Is the voltage supposed to increase to make it brighter or is it a separate LED not on this schematic that lights when switched?

Correction: It just lights when the headlight switch is on (or parking lights). It doesn't change based on anything else.
