I have the same issue when cold. It almost sounds like the engine is knocking, but it's not since it's coming from within the cabin. Anyway, I went ahead and got under my truck and did some adjustments. Come to find out 3 of the 4 cab to frame mounts were loose. Hmm. I do some mild off-roading and figured it was time to tighten things down. Anyway, I haven't experienced it since, but it's also been a bit warmer lately.

The cab to frame mounts should be torqued down quite a bit. I checked the tight one, and it was over 92 ft-lbs.

Have them check the exaust manifold, my prerunner was making the same noise.

I get that ticking noise on the passenger side of my truck when I speed up to get on the freeway! When my window is down and I an next to one of those sound walls getting on the freeway you can really hear it. I think its something to do with my exhaust manifold. I will look at the mirror but I doubt it!

Im with everyone else it could be exaust mine does it when its cold cause the aluminum and steel heat up differently and theres a small gap on the last exaust outlet.

i had a front bumper mount TSB done on the truck. i'll try to locate the pdf file.

my noise was a clunking sound when i hit a bump. local oil change shop tech has a 2005 Tacoma and pulled up the pdf for me and printed it out. took it in and they fixed it up. no more noise although i did have a driver's side mirror fixed that was also noisy.

seems like i had a cab mount bolt TSB done also.

first year model growing pains i suppose...but now it's rock solid. great truck.

So has no one figured it out yet? Mine is starting to do it a little bit even now that it's warmer out but not regular enough to get it to the dealer or for myself to figure it out. Definitely not the bumper tsb though, cause mine does it sitting still in the driveway. I would give anything almost if someone could figure this **** out!

no word yet for me. I've been on the road marketing the new Tundra. You'd think they'd take care of me considering i market a toyota vehicle. I'll be talking to the dealership when i get back
