Default Pop N Lock Installation & Window Visors

Anyone here have any tips on installing the manual Pop N Lock on my 2008 Taco? I got it in the mail the other day and after reading through the directions am a little nervous about tearing apart the tailgate to install this.

Did you have any problems with removing the levers from the tailgate handle and reinstalling them with the longer parts included with the lock?? Does the lock actually sit ON the paint under the handle?

I also installed some AVS in channel window visors today and noticed the front windows were just hitting the visors when they were put up. Will this stop after the 24 hour set period and the adhesive has a chance to stick? I hope so as I do not want to have to rip these things out and chance tearing apart the weatherstripping in the window channel.

no problem on the pop and lock
REMEMBER DO NOT PUT ON THE BLACK PLASTIC TAILGATE PART TILL YOU KNOW IT WORKS !
yep it just sits on the paint and now you have the top half of the indentation black, when finished it will be all black !

took a bit of "wiggeling" to get the Pop n lock bolts to go in place but no real problem, just wiggle on it .

and once you get out the 12 or so screws and remove the back of the tailgate you have a lot of room to work with ! and a bit of lifting up to get it off the tailgate top part .
do not overtighten the screws when putting back !

i use a screwdriver to pry the pins out then used the "extensions"

some have not used them but some have found out it will not unlatch all the way unless they are in.

it is a easy install and you should have no trouble !!!!
that was the first mod i did ;-D

and ventvisors was the second. the first while it was a bit stiff rolling up the window all the way i will admit! but no i usually leave a air gap as pretty hard to get inside a small airgap and keeps the truck a bit cooler.
hand mine on for about 6 months and still "just a bit stiff" but nothing like the first days !
