Default Brake squeak

The last week or so my passenger front brake has been making a rubbing squael all the time. Not real loud, but a deffinate metal on metal rubbing sound almost like a pebble or something caught in the brakes. I pulled the wheel off and noticed a piece of the brake pad is actually chipped off and is continueing contact after the brake disengages. After further looking notices the wear indicator is missing from the pad, but there is still a 1/4" or so of pad left. The truck has about 53,000 miles.

When braking the truck pulls to the passenger side. I feel like this is a defective pad or a bad caliper. I have a platinum warranty to 100,000 miles. I know brake pads are not warrantied against wear but what about deffect? Anyone else with a brake problem. Going to call the dealer tomorrow.

the rotor could be warped since its pulling when you brake. not sure if that will be covered under warranty though.

I was right the caliper was sticking being replaced under warranty. Unfortunately they will not take responsiblity for the caliper wearing out the brake pads. They said the drivers side was down to 1mm and needed to be replaced as well so I have to pay for new new pads and rotor resurfacing at $160. Not to bad I guess.

After they "fixed the brakes" I was blowing thru stop signs or putting my foot thru the floor I called the dealer back and they checked it out again.

They found that the tech never adjusted the rear brakes, and the pull was caused by my steering wheel being cocked to the left. They redid the alignment since it was only 3,000 old. Next they will be detailing the truck since the tech left greasy foot print on my rugs, consule, door and kick panels, plus finger prints on the hood, doors and windows. They claim he had a bad day. At least they are making up for it

It just goes to show you if you pay for dealer work and don't get it speak up toyota likes to make it better.
