Default Dealership and Doug Thorley Headers

Do you think I will run into any problems for my Doug Thorley headers and the check engine light when I go in for some warranty work?

I plan on getting the sim soon, but need to get the work done first.

Thanks

I did a little research about same subject because I'm interested on the DT Long Tubes. If you get the SIM you won't have the check engine light on, so no problems with that.. And aftermarket products won't void your warranty UNLESS THAT EXACT MOD CAUSES SOMETHING ELSE TO MALFUNCTION. Or at least that is what Toyota warranty states about aftermarket products. Are you planning to get them or already have 'em? I'm still looking for best price around, where did you get them from and how much?

I already have the headers installed. I also have the subsequent check engine light because I have not yet bought the sim. I know I will be fine if I go in with the sim installed because there will be no light and no therefore no issue.

I am only wondering if you go in with a check engine light are the dealerships required to diagnose and potentially fix the problems associated with them (the check engine light)?

I need to have some work done on the driver side seat in my tacoma and I don't want them asking me, or telling me I have to let them fix the problem associated with the cel.

Thanks

Just tell me first of all that you installed the headers and you already know that's the reason why the light is on, and don't need them to check that.. Just stand strong on whatever you tell them and theyll keep it shut. Anyways, what problem do you have with your driver's seat?? I've taken mine 3 times already and they can't fix this squeeky sound coming from the lumbar support area which has become a pain in the a$$... They've checked it 3 times, changed the rails once, changed the whole seat frame (whole interior of seat) and nothing fixes it.. Last time I took it in they told me I should talk to the district service manager so he can approve a new seat since they already replaced it once.. That was 3 weeks ago, havent heard of them since...

Thanks Rodrigo,
That answers my question.

The problem I have with the seat is that the recline lever broke off a few months after I bought the truck. The part of the lever that actuates the spring/switch actually broke off and no longer did its job. The dealership fix was to weld it back into place, and what do you know... it broke off again.
I am going to ask for a whole new assembly this time. I haven't had any problems with a squeaky lumbar.
