Any Canadians here importing Tacomas?

Im looking to buy a 4 cylinder 4x4 Taco up here in Canada but they dont offer the 4 banger 4x4 configuaration here. I have been checking some sites on the net and it looks like Toyota wont let Canadians import new trucks to Canada. Has anyone here tried it before? Also ive been reading the 4 cylinder thread, can i expect 27+ mpg on the highway with this truck?

I did.
I bought a new 08 Tacoma Access Cab 4x4 TRD Offroad for $25,588 CND + Taxes and $200 riv. All together it cost me around $30,000 cnd sitting in the driveway licensed. I figured a saved close to $13,000.00
I crossed the border at around 8:30 in the morning and had it fully inspected and plated by noon.
It was really extremely easy. The hardest part is finding a dealer willing to sell to you.

I sold my 96 2.7L. I've driven Toyota 4 bangers for years and love them. I had a 84 4runner and an 85 4runner. I have to say though, I really like the V6. The gas milage is very close to the same (even better towing) as I guess my foot isn't to the floor all the time. As much as I tried to convince myself that I was happy with the power of my 2.7L (I had 3.58 gears so it was a dog) now that I got the V6 I don't regret it for a moment. Time will tell as far as reliability, although my 2.7L needed a rebuilt head after only 350,000km's. I sold it with 420,000 km's on it and planned on driving it for a couple of years more, but couldn't pass up the U.S. deal on the 08.

4 cylinder 4x4 is to be available in Canada for 2009. Wait a few more weeks and check the 2009 prices when the 2009 Tacoma is released in Canada
