TacomaGeneral discussion forum for the 2005 and later Toyota Tacoma.
This is a discussion thread titled "the great floods of '08", within the Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
i hope everyone in the midwest is staying safe and dry through these floods. I know i would be completely underwater right now if it weren't for my tacoma! speaking of which, anyone know of problems i need to look for after driving through high water (up to the doors, never got water in the intake, but looking at snorkels now as an investment)? i'm going to be replacing the diff fluid as well here soon.
Up to the bottom of the door and you shouldn't have any problem and really only need to change your diff oil as a precaution. A snorkel is a great investment if you think you will ever see water like that again. Also, extend your breather's for both diffs as well, cheap and easy.

Things are starting to get a "little" more normal over here in Columbus. We never expected the dam at Shaffer to go. Finished gutting my house a couple days after the flood, and let it dry out for a couple weeks, we started on drywall Thursday. How did you guys in Bloomington fair?
