Default Disconnect battery = reset trip

I'm assuming I'm not the only one.

I installed my Alpine IVA-W505 yesterday so I disconnected the negative terminal of the battery to be on the safe side.

The cluster remembers the ODO but not the A&B Trip. Anyone find that odd?

I don't recall any vehicle I've ever owned doing that. Since the truck is barely a month old I've been keeping track of my fuel mileage so this tank is shot lol.

This was just one of those WTF experiences.

I have never seen a vehicle equipped with an electronic digital odometer that did not lose the trip mileage, and the sound system pre-sets, and the automatic climate control settings (if equipped).

My S2000 doesn't lose the trip. I owned an RSX a few years back and it didn't either.

I don't believe I've ever done anything to my Jeep TJ that required disconnecting the battery so I'm not sure about that one.

Maybe it's just a honda thing.

I always write down the ODO mileage and the TRIP mileage when I fill-up. Can always get the trip by subtracting the ODO mileage in case something gets hosed on the tripmeter ... and if I forget to reset it too.
