TacomaGeneral discussion forum for the 2005 and later Toyota Tacoma.
This is a discussion thread titled "Best place to buy Toyota OEm parts", within the Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Jacque at trdparts4u.com They are out of Dallas TX. There prices are very good and they are all great people. Most of there prices are on there website and are about 30% less the retail.
I met them when I was out there for work, I picked up parts directly from the dealership. They even invited me out for a weekend to attend a Toyota meet.
Even with shipping I still saved well over 35% compared to dealing in Canada when I ordered some ball joints through the mail..
My seat covers are Wetokole. They were expensive, but fit excellent. Most people don't even realize that I have covers on.
For that many parts you could always order them from a dealer in Buffalo, and take a drive down and pick them up. That's what I did for a bike rack. ($642.97 here vs. $338.00 US in Buffalo). But I live closer to Toronto, so it's only like an hour and half drive.
Heck, I even did the same thing for my truck!

A rule of thumb: If you can't describe your idea clearly and simply, you haven't thought it through.

I'm not aware of any discount codes.
Shipping will probably be alot as the parts are pretty large. You will almost certainly have to pay taxes as well when it crosses the border plus a brokerage charge (depends on who it is shipped with).
Depending on what the prices are close to the border as I mentioned you may be best to drive down to pick them up, that way you save on the shipping, taxes and brokerage charges.
1sttoyotaparts, i bought my oem side bars (259) & TRD exhaust (339). Shipping is 10% of your order amount so it was like 60 bux for both. My local dealer wouldn't match plus the no tax helped offset the shipping cost.
How does the $724 compare to here?
Don't forget there will be 13% tax plus brokerage charge on top of that. (Brokerage charge depends on who they ship with. Try not to go UPS as they charge around $60 for that big of an order. USPS is the cheapest.)
I haven't bought any OEM parts from a Buffalo Toyota dealer. My bike rack was from a Tule dealer and my truck was from a dealer in Pennsylvania.
Shawnd2 I fully intend to drive to Niagara Falls NY or Buffalo to reap the savings.. I had contacted several dealers in the Barrie area and they wanted $389 for the running boards $250 for the skid plate and said Toyota doesn't sell seat covers.
$140 is alot, but then again that is quite a bit of weight. When I was looking for seat covers I read that the OEM seat covers tend to make you sweat alot so that is why I went with Wetokole. Look them up in Google if you get a chance, I am quite happy with them, although they were not cheap.
Let me know if you get a dealer around the border that has parts at a reasonable price, even if it costs a tank of gas it will probably be worth it. Come to think of it I also bought by ARE Cap from Buffalo. $700 cheaper.
Let me know if/when you go, maybe we can combine a run!
Will Do! I was thinking about getting an ARE Cap. What model did you get and how do you like it? How much?
I have been shopping locally for a LEER XQ cap. Van and Truck world wanted $2499. But I found a place in St. Catherines selling it for $1729 installed.
Back in January I got the OEM black running boards from Toyotaparts4u for $270.25 shipped (249.99 plus 20.26 shipping). Good to do business with, no problems.
Ah Paris, France I was just there a few weeks back. We went in 07 and 08. Love it! If you ever have the chance head out to Normandy and see the beaches and Stay in a town called Bayeux.Breathtaking! I wish I was there siping on a cafe au lait.. Take Care
