Default 2006 head unit
I have a 2006 tacoma pre runner dc. The head unit is a regular 6 disc in dash. My question is why doesn't it play mp3?

Because it wasn't designed to work with mp3. I installed an after-market ipod interface in my truck(same radio as yours) and now the steering wheel buttons control the ipod- how cool is that?!?
