TacomaGeneral discussion forum for the 2005 and later Toyota Tacoma.
This is a discussion thread titled "Wind noise TSB", within the Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Today I got my truck back from the dealer after getting the noise TSB done and all I can say is WOW! what a difference! The truck is so much quieter, it's sad they didn't come out with this fix sooner. Now, it makes the same amount of noise at 75mph that it used to make at 40mph. All new weatherstrips, sound panels on all four doors and new front glass- this TSB costs Toyota some money! If your truck falls into the VIN range, I highly recommend getting it done.

I'm actually interested in getting this TSB done. Could you upload it please? And share some more info, the VIN #'s range and what else does it cover?

Thanks for sharing, this is a great site to be aware of issues. I'm shopping for a 2009 and there's a slim chance I might go for a 2008 (both new). Do I need to be concerned about the windshield issue on those years? Also what about the rear springs TSB, I think someone said that would apply to new 2008 - 2009 vehicles? Thanks in advance.
Yea, this is a separate TSB regarding side door/window noise. I found it on aldata at my local library. I think the number is something like nov07-04 or something like that. This only affects 05 thru mid 07 access cabs and toyota will only make the repairs if the customer brings the issue(and maybe the TSB) to their attention. After mid-07, they made the changes on the production line. I hope this helps.

Thanks. It would be very very helpful If you could get us the actual TSB so most of us can take it and get it done, if you already got rid of it, think about us next time you go to the library.. thanks again

I went out and found them. I uploaded the new one and one on a wind noise repair kit I hadn't seen before. I also found the original windshield noise TSB had been revised so I uploaded that one too (3 files total).
The new one is "Wind Noise From Access Cab" and as you can see the repair is quite extensive; all new side (thicker) windows, all new weatherstripping and molding, etc. I'm taking my truck in Monday.
When I called to make the appointment I got the usual "we'll have to see if we can find the problem" routine. Fortunately for me another Toyota dealership (I've since moved) validated I had the problem and attempted to fix it by resealing the rear sliding window assembly (didn't work). I still have the documentation (which is why you should always hang on to everything).
