I tend to slightly disagree... Yes, load is a factor... But what does load do? It increases operating temp. If the ambient temp is already hot, and the diff is under load, what is the diff temp going to be? Really hot...
For another post... The 5-speed manual trans is NOT sealed. It has a drain plug (lower right side of the tranny) and a fill plug (upper left side of the tranny).
Now my update to the dealer visit: Well, they (Sierra Toyota in Lancaster, Ca) have seal my disgust for Toyota. To keep the story short, after being jerked around for over 3 hours, say it's normal driveline noise. Funny, this 'normal' driveline noise appeared when the truck hit 32,000 miles. I'm tired of fighting Toyota (this not being the first account), so bottom line, this vehicle will be the first and last Toyota I ever own. Like I said, I wanted to keep this somewhat short, so if you want to get more perspective to my disgust, call up my other posts to this forum... 'nough said, I'm done.
