Default TSB Warranty?

Are ALL TSB's supposed to be honored and reparied under warranty whether or not you can prove the problem? Or do some restrictions apply?

I recently took my 07 DC 4x4 Tacoma in for 5 TSB's and this is what they had to say:

Bent Rear Tailgate BO018-07:
Dealer: "Unless we see anything bent externally, we can not issue a repair order for the TSB"

Isn't this an internal error in the tailgate? How would I be able to know unless it is opened. What if something happens after my 36000 mile warranty?

Windshield Wind Noise NV006-07:
Dealer: "We hear the noise at approximately 35 mph. We can not issue a repair order unless we remove your roofrack and do a retest"

I personally thought this was BS because the aftermarket roofrack was installed by a toyota dealer AND I do not hear anything until I reach speeds of 65-70 mph.

Rear Spring Harsh Ride SU006-07:
Dealer: "We can not issue a repair order unless you have actually carried heavy cargo in the bed"

I told the dealer that I havent carried anything heavy yet, BUT did find the ride to be very harsh at highway speeds and/or over the littlest bumps.

Engine "No Start" Condition EG011-07:
Dealer: "Unless you've had issues with starting your vehicle, we can not issue a repair order"

I am not to concerned about as I have not had any issues and the warranty is up 96 months or 80000 miles.

Techstream ECU Flash SS002-07:
Dealer: "You vehicle does not apply"

Not to conerned as there is no limit to warrany according to dealer.

Any advice as to what I should do? Or can I even do anything at all? I know its not a safety issue but I really don't feel like sitting around waiting until something may or not go wrong or until my warranty is up.

Am I missing any TSB's listed?

Thanks ahead for any feedback!

Nope TSB's are for the techs to understand that their is an issue with the said system and explain to them how to fix them. If you are not having the issues that the TSB's speak of they will not do anything but verify that that system is OK and they will send you packing!!

http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forums/1127246-post16/ this is from a Toyota Master Tech and he explains it how Toyota sees it!

TSB & Warranty? You have to have the symptons of the TSB during the warranty period for said item for it to be repaired under the TSB once they say Yep you have this issue and then it will normally be fixed no charge! But if you have no sympton why would they wanta fix it if it's not broken

you could always try another dealer. i visit several forums and the services of dealerships from coast to coast and even in Canada differ as much as the terrain where they are located does. i've read some posts that say the dealer "performed the TSB with no opposition whatsoever" and also some that have "denied the TSB even exists"

my advice would be to try to have a good relationship with you dealer's techs and even the lube monkeys. you'd be suprized at how far a 5 min BS session with a lube tech will go towards him or her caring about your vehicle. the old addage holds true most of the time..."you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."

If you want the rear suspension tsb done load up your bed and bring it to the dealer. Go by 12 80lb bags of quikrete from Home Depot and drive it to the dealer. That would be 960lbs in your bed and more than enough to have you resting on the bump stops. Then return the bags of quikrete when they agree to perform the tsb. As for the bent rear tailgate, you have to bend your tailgate for that one to be performed and it is very noticeable when the tailgate is closed if it is bent. The windshield noise is something I just started experiencing, unfortunately it has to be really windy or I have to be doing 90 to make it happen so it is tough for me to "prove that one to the dealer." The re flash tsb doesn't apply to your model because your model doesn't have the problem being reported. As for the No Start TSB, if you really wanted that one done you could describe the problem outlined in the TSB and they will likely do it for you. But if it has happened yet your vehicle may not even have the issue and you run the risk of sounding like "the boy who cried wolf".

what dealer is this so i make sure i never go there... thats a load of bs.

The dealer we went to changed my brothers tailgate even when there wasnt any damage... me on the other hand... The TSB came out after i went over my mileage which sucked.

They were even about to do the suspension upgrade on my bro's truck until we realized his doesnt apply since it's not an sr5.

I got my rear harsh ride fixed on my own by adding a leaf. go to a different dealer. they're f'n with you

As far as another dealership? Hmmmmm. Your from Gardena? What dealership did you go to?

I took my tacoma to Longo Toyota. Who would have thought such a big dealership would deny every single TSB. I'm definitely going to call around and ask another dealship.
