Default changing my lift...

I need some opinions, right now I have 2.5" toytec lift coil over spacers front of my 2007 dc trd o/r tacoma 4x2...
since my truck's been at the shop for 3 weeks now, I've had time to research some other options for a better ride.. i was checking out OME coil springs at Toyota Tacoma lifts, suspension, accessories
Has anyone tried this lift yet? How good/bad is it? Can I get it cheaper somewhere else? What's the main difference between medium and heavy duty option... with the coil spring lift, what am i getting just a longer spring?? do i need to change something else with this one (shocks maybe)??? thanks!

I just bought that OME HD lift with the 886 heavy duty coils in the front and OME spring pack and the OME extra leafs in the rear. I will be installing it as soon as I get it. I used to have an OME lift on my Land Cruiser and I can say their quality is top notch. I am sure my new Tacoma lift will be the same! The 886 (heavy duty) has stiffer spings (not longer) than the 885 (medium duty). The reason I went with the 886 is because I got the extra leafs in the rear which should stiffen my ride quite a bit and I wanted the front springs to match that so the front suspension didnt seem floaty in comparison to my new stiffer rear suspension. If you dont need the extra load carrying capacity in the rear the 885's with either and add-a-leaf or a block to the stock rear springs should be a good setup. As a matter of fact I almost pulled the trigger on the 885 coils with a toytec add-a-leaf plus my Supersprings about 6 months ago, then I put my lift plans on hold until this last week when I then decided to go with OME HD lift. You dont really need new shocks if you don't need the added articulation that the longer shocks wil allow. I think it is better to do it right the first time around so I chose to spend some extra money for the OME shcks that were made to go with this lift. Also, if you dont have the TRD package with the Bilstein shocks I would definitely reccomend new shocks. Toytech sells various longer shocks for lifted Tacoma's some of which are quite a bit cheaper than the OME if you are trying to save some money.

I hope this info helps.

I will post some pics when I get my lift intalled!

Thanks a lot.. still have a couple of questions:
Since you're getting the whole lift kit (front + rear) and you're getting a stiff rear ride, so you're going with the 886. But since I just want to level the front and have the TSB on the back (which lifted my truck about + - 1.5") and would like to keep it like that on the rear, which setup is best for me (for the front coil springs)? I do have the TRD Off Road. What are you planning to do with your supersprings (those lifted a little bit too right?).

It sounds like the 885's are the best option for you. The 885's should be slightly stiffer than your TRD suspension, the 886's from my understanding would be quite a bit stiffer. If you have a heavy steel front bumper and winch then the 886's would probably be a good fit for your truck.

I will most likely sell my Supersprings, if you are interested let me know. Yes, the Supersprings will lift your rear a bit as well.

Hope this helps!!

Thanks a lot, again... Yeah sounds like my best bet is to go with the 885's. DO I NEED TO GET ANYTHING ELSE? Since they lift about 2.5" I think I'll have to lift the back just a little tiny bit more... Please pm me when you decide to sell the supersprings, I might be interested, thanks!!!

You could get a 1" block kit from Toytech to get you up a little higher in the rear without making your rear suspension any stiffer. I will PM when I have my Supersprings off.
