Default '08 heater fan noise

My 08 has a ticking noise coming from the heater fan....now, there is a step-by-step guide by someone here for taking apart the fan motor and adjusting 2 of the mounting screws....this is on a 05....on the 08, they have applied lock-tit (that's what we call it here in Canada) to these screws in an effort, I guess, to solve this ticking problem....what it means is that you can't adjust these screws easily and without alot of effort to break the seal.....does anyone else hve any suggestions.....I am going to take the truck into the dealer in a week, to have them look at it, but in case they discover I took the motor apart and get sore about it, I was wondering if anyone else has had this probelm and what the outcome was.....

just let the dealer do it !!!
don't go messing with locktite, put it back togeather and let the dealer fix it and not bill you for "damage"

PS i have been known to use heat to break down locktite
but don't do it, take it to the dealer

Don't mess with it. Take it to the dealer. They'll tell you it's normal at which time you can argue that it's not. In the end, they'll replace it for you. Then you can go on your merry way and listen to the new one...tick tick tick tick...

It's a design flaw and I'll be amazed if they have one that'll last more than a couple of years without ticking.

yah, I'm going to take it to the dealer, lose the truck for the whole day while they 'diagnose' it, then argue with them about the noise.....I think I will just have to end up replacing it myself....Omar at Joe Myers Toyota in Houston has a new motor for 103.00.,....that's alittle better than the 175 the local delaer wants for one, plus they have to bring it in from Vancouver....no Cdn dealers stock anything more than oil and air filters in their parts dept these days....
