Default Oil leak

My truck has started leaking oil around the drain plug. It looks like there is a little hard gasket between the plug and the oil tank. Has anyone had a problem with this gasket breaking and causing a leak? I don't want to take the plug out and look at it because I just changed the oil about 600 miles ago and it's not leaking enough to cause it to be low on oil.

It's time for a new gasket. You need to change it out everytime you change the oil.

Thanks, I never really paid attention to it until I realized it was leaking last week and then I noticed that there was a gasket on there.

I just changed my oil last weekend, and finally remembered to get some new drain plug gaskets - good insurance and cheap. I agree it is best to do it on every oil change.
