Default Tacoma VS Equator

Hello everyone... new guy here. I'm from Hollywood and I'm looking for a new pickup. I almost had my mind set on a new Tacoma but after reading some reviews, the new Suzuki Equator's starting to look like a better choice... what do you think??

Thanks for all your feedback. This would be my first pickup so I wanted to make sure i make it a good one...

oh yeah, while I'm at it, if you're from Hollywood or anywhere else in the Los Angeles area, can you refer me to a good dealer... This one's the obvious chioce since its so close to home.. Toyota of Hollywood | Toyota Los Angeles | New Toyota & Pre-Owned Toyota Dealership | Los Angeles Toyota Parts & Los Angeles Toyota Service but if there's an even better one let me know.

I still have my mind pretty set on the Tacoma, but I'll be checking with other forums to see if the Equator really is a better choice. Thanks for all your help!

Yes, the Equator is a re-badged Nissan Frontier. You can use the Search feature to find threads discussing the Frontier, though of course you'll find the Tacoma to be the favored choice on a Tacoma board.

That said, the Frontier is a very nice truck, but we do need to know what you are looking for to offer meaningful advice. Generally speaking, the Tacoma has much better headlamps -- much larger rear seats & rear doors (and windows that go all the way down) in double cab configuration -- and much better resale value, especially compared to Suzuki brand.

i just need a good work truck in general. great towing and payload most likely a V6. yeah i know this forum would be biased towards tacos so im checking with other forums as well and just comparing arguments. to be honest i don't know too much about trucks which is why im checking with forums before i make a major purchase...

Thanks for all your help!

yep 6 for sure
and if new get the towing package !!! !
has oil cooler, bigger alt and battery, fan, hitch and 4 plug wired with a adaptor for 7, and a pigtail for elect brake kit and a few other goodies and required if you want the 6500 pound towing ability

i just have the 5 lug tacoma 4 banger but does all i need it to do just fine !
think you will find the resale is a lot more on a tacoma ( and to me that says something)

What's your requirement of a worktruck?
How much towing, payload and passengers?
