Re: 4 Wheeler in the bed
I have both an '06 Yamaha Wolverine 450 and an '07 Kawasaki Brute Force 750. Mine is the full 4 door cab with the 5' bed.
Both fit with the tailgate down. The Brute has aftermarket 27" tires and aftermarket wheels (wider width than stock), and barely fits between the wheelwells. Fortunately, with the composite bed, the rims scraping the wheelwells only does minor cosmetic damage to the bed, with no wheel damage.
You will need to put something between the front tires and the front of the bed to keep the bumper of the Kodiak away from the rear window. The Brute requires one short 2x4 to be sandwiched between each front tire and the front wall of the bed. The Wolverine, with it's smaller 23" tires, requires 2 short 2x4s between each front tire and the front wall of the bed.
As I found out last Monday, one 2x4 in front of each front tire isn't thick enough for the Wolverine. A new sliding rear window from a mobile installation service costs between $1000 and $1200. Fortunately, I found a shop that has a used one for $400 plus tax installed.
I had to drive from eastern central Kentucky to western central Florida, 850 miles, with a broken rear window.
I'm going to make something out of wood that will bolt permanently to the front of the bed that is thick enough to keep any ATV away from the rear window.
