Default pop-up camper options for 2006 Taco 5-ft box

Hey, I am searching for pop-up camper options for my 2006 4-door, short box (5 ft) Tacoma. I am aware of NorthStar model 600, weighing around 1200 lbs. Has anyone found light weight campers to fit the short box? Also, the Toyota specs indicate a 1300 lb weight limit for this truck, but how is that defined? Payload/camper + content + passengers = 1300lbs? Are there ways to increase the truck limit? Stronger tires, suspension, air bags???
Many thanks, MarkinMT

Are you looking for a truck camper, that also is a pop-up? Something like this, except for the 5-ft bed?

I used a pop model in my 96 Tacoma for several trips/years. (over 10,000miles)
I installed airbags and ran higher PSI in my tires. I was probably close/over the trucks posted limit, but had no issues. The truck handled really well actually.
I think a company 4wheel campers offer lighter weight models.
I really enjoyed it, the only thing I found that I didn't like is the lack of storage vs. pulling a sperate tent trailer. Everytime we stopped for the night we had to unload the BBQ, stove, re-arrange our cloths etc.
A seperate trailer is nice, you can load the back of the truck and not worry about it.

Just my .02 worth.
