Welcome to TS from N. Calif!

Possibly a leaf inside the fan, pretty easy to get to. IIRC, just remove the glove box door, unplug the wiring connector for the fan, remove three screws, and the fan assembly drops down. Clean out the leaves and reassemble.

Edit: Aha! I knew there could more to it, just had to search for it. Check this thread, especially 05Moose's link in post #3.

think the 06 has the air filter, if so check it
depends on where you keep your truck, might find some mice have been in there

I have had mine replaced 2 times now. My dealer said if it happens a 3rd time I will be responsible to pay for it. I told him to get ready for an ear full if it happens again

They told me that the bearings on the fan wear out and squeak. I took it apart and no leaves or dirt were in there, looked perfectly clean everytime. So I rotated the fan a few times and sure enough there is a small section in the rotation where it slows down and "catches" thus makes the noise. Really annoying noise too.
