Default Door open light staying on

Brand new 10' pre runner access cab...Drive it off the lot and home to park in the garage. All is fine. Walk by a few hours later and notice the open door indicator on, yet all doors are closed. Check em' anyway...light still on. What gives? Saw this on another 10' on the lot and salesman said it was part of anti-theft. BS!!! Ideas before I make a return trip???

I got out there and shut all access cab doors really good and the light went off. This is something I'm going to have to watch...

Default cause for the Door open light staying on

If you wait till you hear a firm thunk when you close all of the accesscab doors, you'll be fine. Just shut 'em firmly. I find this occurs when the weather outside is radically different than inside a garage or your truck... the warm air seems to create a "halo" of resistance to closing tight -- it happens with hatchback doors too. Especially Prius and Venza.

I was waaaaaay better in English and grammar etc than I was in science but I am sure there's a scientific cause for all of this. It also happens on the back doors of the doublecabs.

I had the same thing happen to me a while back on my 06 access cab. I opened and closed the drivers door again, and the light went off. The door had seemed fully closed before though. Hasnt happened since, so you are not crazy.

Cool. Hasn't happened again either, but I've been paying close attention to closing that door sternly.
