Instead of taking apart half the back seat in the access cab, how about putting the tuner under the drivers seat? I thought about mounting the tuner to a piece of plastic (plexiglass) and using velcro to help secure it to the carpet (like a dash mat). Then running the wires through the hump where the front seat bolts attach and the seat wires are routed and over to where they need to be.

I wont have any issues with water or melted snow on the floor boards. I can't see where this mounting would be an issue really. Wouldn't be and hotter that the correct mounting location (actually may be cooler). Only issue may be dust, but it would be in an accessible location whereas the correct location wouldn't.

Whatcha think?

Why not just mount it up under the dash and connect everything from there. That is how mine is done. Bring antenna wire out and under B pillar and headliner and up through 3rd brake light and afix magnetic antenna there. Simple to do and appears like a factory install.

I guess that is one possibility, except it is already pre-wired and the ant and head plugs are in the driver's side kick panel. I could stuff the receiver up under there somewhere. I just thought that under the seat would be a little less cramped and would have some ventilation.
