Default 2007 Alignment

Hey guys. I usually hang out in the Tundra forum because thats what I drive. I'm trying to help a neighbor out who lost her husband to a heart attack a couple of months ago. She has a 2007 2WD Tacoma with a little under 30,000 miles on it and the tires are worn out. She tells me they have been rotated regularly (I did'nt ask what regularly was) but the drivers side front looks pretty worn as compared to the others. On the Tundra forum, there is a fella with a user name of DJ that has posted some pretty finite specs for a front end alignment. I used these on my 03' Tundra and it made a world of diff. Have you all found a simillar set of specs that have worked out for a stock Tacoma? Also, are the Tacomas like the Tundra as far as some of the wheels being lug centric and some being hub centric?

Any help would be appreciated.

Can't answer you on the specs, but there's an adapter that's supposed to be used to balance our wheels because they are lug centric. FYI, these trucks are very, very sensitive to wheel balance issues. So if it has a steering wheel shake at 55+ mph, then they weren't balanced perfectly.

Thanks 05Moose, I will get her to go to the same place that did the balance on my Tundra, I would think it would be the same adapter. Out of curiosity, is 30,000 pretty standard for a set of factory tires? I know it's a general question, but seems a bit low to me.

LOL, 30K miles is probably excellent mileage for factory tires. I've heard people getting in the 30K range at most. Then there are folks like me... I had the Dunlops and all 4 were worn down to the replacement indicators at 13K miles! Most of that was freeway miles too! It just varies.

.

Every set of Dunlops that I have ever owned were junk.

Wife has a 2009 Honda Fit with Dunlops and had to have a tire replaced around 4,000 miles.

When they get a bit more worn, we will replace them with some Michelins from COSTCO.

Wow! I guess we will consider it a good thing that she got 30k and stick some new shoes on it.

Thanks for the input.

My 07 has about 19,000 miles on it and the dunlops are looking pretty damn tired. I have an 05 civic that has the original dunlops on it and there is probably about 30,000 on it and they look hardly used. Guess it's hit or miss with the brand.

05 Moose, I know they would only replace them with the same crappy tire, but did you try to go through the delaership with a warranty type repalcement?

Never even crossed my mind. Besides, they're a wear and tear item. That's like trying to tell them your wiper blades are worn out after a couple of months.
