i agree the ride is firmer on the double cabs (at least the one i test drove). Much firmer than my '95 toyota pu. Maybe it is to compensate for the extra weight?
Are the regular and extended cabs guilty of such a firm ride also?

I also agree the that the tundra rides like a car (smooooth!). Wish I could get one for a daily driver but a little too much for me.

My two cents.
I totally agree, Thats the reason I bought a truck!!

Default Tire Pressure Critical

I agree with the tire pressure recommendations. I noticed a big change in ride (for the worse) when I picked up my 2004 4x4 non-TRD double cab from the tire shop after a rotate and balance. I checked the pressure and they had pumped the tires to 38 lbs. The door jamb says 26 and I try to keep it there. I think the tire pressure recommendation seriously effects the ride quality. Keep it near 26 and you feel a big difference.

I had a 98 4x4 extended cab that had a very harsh ride and bounced a lot in the rear. At the time I ran 35 lbs. in the tires and I think this was my mistake.

new to the truck world and justgot a '05 double cab prerunner. I like the way it handles right now, and want to lift it sometime. I have been lookin into fabtech's prerunner package, not offered for the '05 yet but im sure it should be in the works. Anyone know of a '05 package? I want coilovers, how will it change handling characteristics?

Also, when lifting and using larger tires/wheels, ultimately raising the COG, how does it affect rollover rates and such? I understand if the wheelbase is widened the higher it can go, but there are limits...any further explanation is appreciated!
