TundraSoul posted prices in the tacoma knowledge forum. Thanks to him for his hard work getting us the price lists!

An extended cab, SR5 4x4 automatic with TRD (including all the power stuff and extra features) was about $25,600 for 04. Looks like the same model for 05 is about $27,000.

At first a $1400 price jump seemed like a slap in the face, but I did think about what we'd get for that extra $1400:

55 more horsepower
62 more lb-ft of torque
extra gear in each tranny
two more mpg (hwy, 4x4 v6 auto)
composite bed
power point and tie-down rails in bed
4 doors instead of 2 on the access cab
more interior room
telescopic wheel
steering wheel controls

Maybe the $1400 is worth it??

I believe 2004 models are mis labeled in the KB. I looked at that and it appears to be 2005 prices.

Wow - so the road test video/article was wrong when it says it will range around $17-24K then!

$27K seems like an aweful lot for a Taco - but then I think $35K+ for a Tundra is insane too!

I would not be suprised if all the options and few accessories on a 4WD DC push the MSRP over 30k. Sport, towing, JBL, side airbags, roof rack, bed extender, etc..

When I was at my dealer last week, I inquired about the tacomas he had coming in and was told two DC's, both MSRP'ing at 29k "nicely equipped". He couldn't tell what though cuz he didn't know exactly what the codes meant yet.

From what I've seen. 29k means TRD packages. Offroad or Sport.

I'm looking at Sport personally.

I think 29k is high but I live in Montana and the 04 Taco dbl cab sticker price was around 28k when I looked at one earlier this year. I know its not the same but with the incentives on 04 Tundras that the northwest dealers were running I bet you could get an 04 DC Tundra for the same price or cheaper than the 05 Taco DC will be when it hits the lot. Same HP more TQ and more room but you've got a turning radius from hell.
