Local dealer in Tracy told me they will have them later in the week! I wish I could build on the official Toyota website.

It shouldn't be too long before they hit show room floors! I've already decided to trade my '03 Tundra for a '05 dbl cab.

I'll be trading my 04 Tundra for an 06 Taco double cab. I want at least one year of bugs worked out.

I traded my 02 Taco for my current 04 Tundra. The Taco was tougher and I miss it.

Ok so we should see some in showrooms in the next week or so, at least the demo's anyway. Does anyone know when we can expect yota to update their websites? Not sure why you can't "build and price" an 05 now....

I have not been able to find any information on what interior colors the 05 Tacoma might be available in. All of the pictures that I have seen so far have been of a grey interior, but I assume there will be at least one other color choice. Has anyone else seen anything about this?

Exclamation 2005 Tacoma Double Cab Test Drive !!!

So I finally was able to test drive the new 05 Taco Double Cab V6, Silver with TRD Off Road Package and short Bed.

Positives:
SMOOOOOTH ride for an Off Road package and big tires. Plenty of Power and Pep. And considering I gave the truck gas more than a few times, the ride was exceptionaly quiet! Turning radius is EXCELLENT for a truck of this size. Braking was also very good. I loved all of the storage compartments, cup holders, sunglass holders and compass. Fit and Finsh was excellent. I was wondering why people compared it to Lexus but I can see why now. The seats were VERY comfortable. Compared to my old 01 Frontier, the cabin, especially the back seat was much more comfortable. Bed was nice and has some great features built into it. The exterior look is very cool, has a very tough stance and overall look. Gas mileage is very respectable for a truck of this size and power. Color options... I LOVE the blue!

Negatives:
That back window is WAAAAY too small. Especially with the rear headrests in the way it was very hard to see out of it. For an 05, there seems to be a lack of features like optional power drivers seat, moonroof, and navigation. THATS it though, overall Im very impressed.

My goal is a completely loaded 05 4x4 Doublecab Blue, Side Airbags and all. Sticker is going to be $31,200, however Ive alread gotten dealers committing to $500-$1000 over invoice so I think I can save a few bucks in that respect. The only thing that has me hesitant is the 04 Titan. Ive driven it twice and I love it too! Its just so DAMN BIG!

Well they finally arrived - in Tacoma where one would think they would roll out first. I agree on the look - I could feel the 5 o'clock shadow growing just from the testosterone off the truck! Rear seats in Double Cab are much more comfortable than '04. Sport seats are comfortable. Grab handle on driver's side is forward making it impossible to ride with elbow on door and holding grab handle. Lotsa niches and crannies. Have to take headrests off back seats to fold flat.

So now to drive it into my garage to make sure it fits and then do the deal. I'll probably order to get radiant red double cab w/ TRD Sport Kit, JBL, and stability control.

Bad news is that dealer has no brochures and no option pricing on the net yet that I can find altho edmunds emailed me and say they have it and it should be up pretty quick.

Jim

Default Keyes Toyota in Van Nuys

The dealer was Keyes of Van Nuys.

They also have 05 Double Cabs at North Hollywood and Hamer Toyota Mission Hills.

Hope this helps!

Did you notice if the back windows rolled down or if they were fixed.

Thanks

Default Back Window?

If you are talking about the Rear Window to the bed, the middle part slides open. I think that its standard on D-cabs. If you are talking about the 2 Rear Passanger windows ont he double cab, they are power windows that go down.

Default New Tacoma

I sat in a new Tacoma today. It was a silver on grey TRD sport 4x4 Double cab long bed. Sticker was just over $30k.
Dealer offered me $2k more for my Tundra than its worth and $1k off MSRP if I wanted it. He wanted my IS on his used lot.

Anyways the Tacoma was realy really nice. Much better than I anticipated. The seats were wonderful much like my old '94 sport seats and the dash material looked very nice. The bed was cool with the electrical outlet and looked very durable.

Possibly might have to begin the search fro the IS replacement.

One thing I did not like was the lame hood scoop on the sport edition. Made it look like a Subaru.
