TacomaGeneral discussion forum for the 2005 and later Toyota Tacoma.
This is a discussion thread titled "aghh i can't decide!!! (Tacoma engine & color)", within the Tacoma forum, part of the Truck Forums category.
Silver is too plain for me. I like black, the point of buying black is that it is hard to keep clean. But hey why buy a 20k piece of machinery you won't clean.
SILVER!!!
I love my Silver truck. I owned a black camry and the silver to me looks nice clean or dirty. Of course I try to keep it clean but if I slack for a while it still looks decent till it is cleaned.

I ordered Indigo Ink Blue. Have had several silvers. I hope I don't regret it in the snowy/salty NE winters. There was a silver one on the lot, but the blue one just struck me.
All black trucks look tough! I almost went with a black access cab mainly b/c it look so tough just sitting there. Yeah they get dirty easily and suck in the summer time, but there will always be drawbacks. My opinion, silver only looks good on BMW or a Benz. My .02
Don't forget the cheap paint. Silver will hide all the paint chips better. Of course black is nice, but you should definitiely get a clear bra if you go black. /Mike

Silver is the must purchased color for a truck for like the last 3 years(read it in a magazine the other day). So if you want to be like everybody else buy silver. Black was the 3rd most purchased, but in my opinion black is nicer looking. I would have bought a black x runner but my dealer had no idea if they would even get one so I bought the blue, and love it. Good luck with your purchase.
