Yes they are crap. I just found that out the other day when one melted completely onto my tailpipe and the other broke clean in half. I took the fronts off also and realized they dug into my fender flares.

Does anyone make a 'shorty' flap that would offer some body protection from rocks/gravel, but be high enough not to rip so easily?

I just gave in an bought a mud guard from the dealer since I broke it off my girlfriends truck. They guy gave me a "deal" of $85. Does anyone have a front left that they took off and don't want anymore? I would be happy to make a deal...

hey guys, like most of you i ripped my mud flap playing in the snow, i have an 06 access cab tacoma, and was wondering if any of you would know if the flaps off a prerunner (07) would be the same as my non TRD 06. thanks guys.

The only differences in mudflaps are this:

1. The rear flaps on a 4WD say "4 X 4" whereas on a prerunner they don't.
2. The front flaps on an '05 are shorter than the '06+.

But they're all interchangeable.

Both of my fronts have broken on my 05, but I fixed both of them. I just drilled holes on either side of the tear and used black zip ties to stitch them back together. On one side it actually tore right off and on that one I used some weatherstrip adhesive on the seam between the two halves and then painted it with some flat black trim paint. You really have to look close to notice, and it was cheaper than buying new ones. Both of mine broke when backing up in about a foot of light snow. Wimpy.

I have a 06 pre runner sport and just noticed my back right mud guard one was ripped and had melted from my tail pipe. I know I dont have the money to replace one at that cost right now. Anyone have one cheaper? anybody live in Phx, Az?
